The strap loafer, better known as the penny loafer, was born in the United States in the 1930s. Inspired by Norwegian slip-on shoes, it owes its nickname to American students who used to slide a coin into the decorative slit on the strap. In the 1950s and 1960s, it became a symbol of Ivy League style, worn both on university campuses and in professional circles. Here we offer a version in smooth black leather, understated and versatile. The shoe is constructed using Goodyear welt stitching, ensuring strength, durability, and the possibility of resoling. For this model, we have also chosen a 3.8 cm Cuban heel, slightly angled inward, directly inspired by men’s shoes from the 1950s to the 1970s.Collaboration with Jamais Vulgaire
