Origin of the fabric and pattern
The fabric is a carded wool flannel, characterised by its slightly fluffy surface, which gives it warmth and suppleness. Used since the 19th century in British menswear, it has established itself as an essential winter fabric. The tennis stripe pattern – thin vertical lines on a grey background – has its roots in the striped fabrics worn in London's financial circles, before becoming a symbol of business attire in the 20th century.
Silhouette inspiration
The line of this jacket is inspired by American lawyers of the 1940s, combined with the aesthetic of Wall Street brokers of the 1980s, where the power of the silhouette was expressed through ample volumes and pronounced shoulders.
